After installation, verify CPU diagnostics, network communication, I/O scanning, and application execution before returning the PLC to service.

Personally, I would preserve the original firmware and application configuration before replacing the CPU. On an established Quantum installation, a hardware replacement without configuration verification can create unnecessary commissioning work.

Schneider has discontinued this product. Current Schneider documentation identifies a Modicon M580 processor, BMEP582040, as the recommended replacement, although migration requires a proper system-level compatibility assessment.
