Note on current rating: Datasheet headline lists ITGQM = 4000 A (maximum controllable turn-off current), while IT(RMS) is catalogued at 3300 A. Some aftermarket listings quote “3500 A” or “1100 A continuous” under different measurement conditions; the 4000 A / 3300 A pairing reflects the ABB datasheet values. The asymmetric structure requires an external anti-parallel diode for bidirectional current flow.
